Abstract: Objective To conduct the homology analysis of Vibrio parahaemolyticus strains iso-lated from a food poisoning outbreak using pulsed-field gel electrophoresis technology (PFGE). Methods Molecular subtyping of 7 Vibrio parahaemolyticus strains isolated from anal swabs of a patient with food poisoning was performed by PFGE after NotⅠdigestion. The DNA fingerprint maps of different Vibrio parahaemolyticus strains were analyzed by BioNumerics software. Results PFGE patterns of the 7 strains showed a 100% similarity. Conclusion PFGE is applicable to the homology analysis of isolates from food poisoning outbreak.
