Abstract: Objective To investigate the effects of conventional and optimal treatment in ICU on cerebral resuscitation in patients with post-cardiac arrest syndrome(PCAS).Methods Totally 96 patients with PCAS were randomly assigned to receive either conventional ICU treatment(con-trol group,n=48)or optimal ICU treatment(observation group,n=48).Consciousness recovery, nerve function, cardiac index, global end-diastolic volume index and complications were compared between the two groups. Results Compared with control group, consciousness recovery was obvi-ously improved in observation group on days 1,3 and 7 after treatment(P <0.05).Furthermore, good neurological outcome rate, cardiac index and global end-diastolic volume index in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group(P <0.05).However,no significant difference was found in the incidence of complications between the two groups(P >0.05).Conclu-sion Compared with conventional ICU treatment, optimal ICU treatment can significantly pro-mote the consciousness recovery and improve the neurological and cardiac function in patients with PCAS.
