Abstract: The structures of the female pelvis are complex and the origins of the pelvic masses are widespread. Preoperative identification of the sources of the pelvic masses is very important. However, it is difficult to determine ovaries and ovary source masses accurately by traditional CT. With the continuous progress of CT technology, the display of ovarian related anatomic structures has been improved. These ovarian related anatomic structures can be used for recognition of ovaries and identification of ovary source masses. This method provides a great help for diagnosis and differential diagnosis of the female pelvic masses. Therefore, this review summarized the researches about ovarian related anatomy and methods of CT recognition of ovaries and ovary source masses.
