Abstract: Selection,design and calculation of typical chemical vessel are discussed based on a view of chemical engineering and process major instead of equipment major.For vessel type selec-tion,two classification tables are available,with which a vessel can be defined according to its structure characteristics combined with its function in a chemical process,and then be selected for storing materials of certain conditions including existing forms and physical properties.For vessel design,a design pressure selection principle table and a design temperature selection table is avail-able,and potential problems are further discussed as well.For vessel calculation,formula for ves-sel dimensions including volume,diameter and length are available.What’s more,principle in-struction of vessel attachment type selection,design and calculation for vessel attachments are de-tailed.
