Abstract: Objective: To study the expression of miR-205 in papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC) and explore its clinical significance. Methods: 45 cases postoperative pathological fresh tissues from patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma were collected in our hospital from January 2014 to December 2014,including 14 males and 31 females, the mean age was 45.5 years, ranged 24-69 years old.28 cases of nodular goiter,5 cases of normal thyroid tissues.micro RNAs were extracted from the tissues, the expression of miR-205 was examined by using reverse transcription quantitative real-time PCR(RT-q PCR).Results: The level of miR-205 expression was significantly lower in PTC than that of non-cancer tissues(NG and NTT) [(1.06 ±1.76) vs(3.19±4.88),P=0.038].miR-205 expression in the PTC with lymph node metastasis was lower than that without lymph node metastasis[(1.21±1.80) vs(9.59±1.60),P=0.003].The relative expression of miR-205 in PTC patients has no correlation with gender, age and infiltration expect tumor diameter. Conclusion: The abnormal down-regulated expression of miR-205 in PTC might be associated with the occurrence, invasion and metastasis of PTC.
