Abstract:
Liquid aluminum flow process in cavity was simulated by using Pro CAST software. The results show that the melt flow behavior in cavity is greatly affected by split block shape. Using split blocks can improve liquid aluminum flow in cavity. The using smooth split block with regular shape can make the liquid aluminum distribution in the cavity more balanced. The smooth flow of the liquid aluminum can reduce the pores in the process of roll casting and improve the final product quality.
