Abstract: Uric acid is the metabolic end products of purine nucleotide. Both laboratorial and epidemiological data have demonstrated that hyperuricemia is an independent risk factor for the development of renal impairment,no matter in animal models,in healthy people,in patients with hypertension or diabetes or chronic kidney disease.Currently there is little research on whether hypouricemic therapy will deteriorate the progression of chronic kidney disease.Further studies are needed to confirm the pathophysiological mechanisms.
