Comparative Study of Public Awareness of the Shanghai Tourism Festival in 2007 and 2013

Abstract: A statistical analysis of public awareness about Shanghai Tourism Festival was conducted with the data collected by questionnaire filled out in 2007 and 2013 to obtain an understanding of awareness changes of the general situation,key elements and specific activities among various groups of visitors. The results showed that public awareness of Shanghai Tourism Festival among various groups rose slightly,that awareness of key elements was still lower than expected,and that differences in theme recognition were found. Some recommendations were put forward: building a professional operational team,encouraging public involvement,enriching projects of traditional culture in an innovation- driven approach,and improving customer satisfaction to meet customers’ experiential needs.
