Abstract: Objective: To assess the safety of contrast agents in kidney transplant patients complicated by myocardial infarction. Methods: Kidney transplant patients diagnosed with myocardial infarction in our department were enrolled from January 2012 to December 2014. According to the clinical characteristics and coronary angiography data, the risk stratification, volume expansion, maximal dose of contrast agents and risk score for prediction of CI-AKI were assessed. The renal function was compared before and after the application of contrast agent. Results:A total of six patients were selected, among whom 4 were classified as low-risk and 2 high-risk before the application of contrast agents. The treatment of volume expansion and application of contrast agents were reasonable. There was no significant difference in renal function before and after application of contrast agents. Conclusion: Contrast agents are safe for kidney transplant patients complicated by myocardial infarction on the premise of good management including risk stratification, volume expansion and minimum dose of contrast agents.
