Exploration and Confirmation of Classroom Teaching Structural Model

Abstract: The curriculum reform in China has been carried out for more than a decade from 2001.The key to achieve the reform visions is the changes in classroom practices. Deepening the understanding of teachers on their classroom teaching is of significance to lead the changes. This study aims to provide scaffolding for teachers to understand and locate their teaching better so that they can find their potential room for improvement. Interviews were first conducted with speciallyhonored teacher to investigate the primary structure of classroom teaching. Using a grounded theory approach,the author constructs a new framework of teaching with 26 indicators under six dimensions,which include objective,structure,content,method,interaction and atmosphere.Then,a teacher behavior scale was developed to text the proposed framework. A survey involving675 teachers was conducted. The six-dimensional teaching structure was texted with Confirmatory Factor Analysis( CFA). The reliability and validity of the scale were also verified.
