Abstract: Wang Kaiyun was an important writer at the end of the Qing Dynasty. Two of his poems were recently discovered in a 1930’s magazine article, and they were never found in Xiang Qi Lou Shi Wen Ji,a collection of Wang’s poetic and prose works. The discovery helps correctseveral errors ofthe poems in Xiang Qi Lou Shi Wen Ji,and provides new clues on Wang Kaiyun’s other lost works. Studies on this article will bring researchers’ attention to Tan Qirui, one who had close relationship with Wang Kaiyun in his old age. In addition, the newly discovered poems can help to clarify some misunderstandings of Wang Kaiyun’s attitude towards the Empress Dowager Cixi.
