Application of Simply Supported T-Beam Strengthened by MPC High Toughness Polymer

Abstract: Polyurethane fly ash composite material is a new type of bridge reinforcement material,the main component are polyisocyanates,modified polyether polyols,low grade fly ash and modifiers,with light weight,high strength,flame retardant,waterproof,anti-corrosion characteristics.In order to study the actual working conditions of simple T-girder bridge after being strengthened by MPC polymer a 3*20m reinforced concrete T-beam bridge is taken as background,and Midas/civil finite element software is used to establish the structure calculation model,load tests are conducted respectively before and after reinforcement,by comparing the deflection and strain analysis,it indicates that the structural deflection falls by 38.2%,strain decreases by 27.3%and carrying capacity improves by 26.3%.Studies have shown that the ultimate bearing capacity of the simple T girder bridge reinforced by MPC composites can significantly be improved,and the stiffness is also be enhanced to different degrees.This paper can provide some reference for strengthening of simply supported T girder bridges.
