Correlation analysis on drug resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii and dose of antibiotics in The Second People’s Hospital of Liangshan Prefecture from 2009 to 2015

Abstract: Objective To analyze the correlation between drug resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii and dose of antibiotics in The Second People’s Hospital of Liangshan Prefecture from 2009 to 2015, and to promote rational drug use in clinic. Methods The distribution and drug resistance of A. baumannii, and the usage of antibiotics in Department of Pharmacy in The Second People’s Hospital of Liangshan Prefecture from 2009 to 2015. The correlation between drug resistance of A. baumannii and dose of antibiotics were analyzed. Results Total 2 719 strains of A. baumannii were isolated, and the pathogenic bacteria(75.62%) was isolated mainly from sputum samples. The isolated strains of A. baumannii increased year by year. The drug resistance rate of A. baumannii against various kinds of antibacterial drugs was on the rise, and the drug resistance rate against levofloxacin increased the most. The drug resistance rate of A. baumannii against piperacillin/tazobactam, levofloxacin, ticarcillin, ceftazidime, and cefepime were almost 50%. The resistance rates of A. baumannii against piperacillin/tazobactam, ceftazidime, cefepime, levofloxacin, and minocyline had significantly positive correlation with use density of levofloxacin. Conclusion It is of great significance to rational use antimicrobial drugs to reduce the drug resistance rate of A. baumannii. The appropriate dosage regimen should be made based on the half-life of drugs and drug sensitivity test.
