Study on synthesis of o nitrophenoxyacetic acid

Abstract: o nitrophenoxyacetic acid has been synthesized in o nitrophenol and chloroacetic acid as raw materials,ac-cording to Williamson synthesis principle under the condition of alkaline reaction.The structure was confirmed by the melt-ing point (m.p.),infrared spectra (IR),element analysis.The influence of various conditions on the yield are investigated. The results showed that the optimal conditions were as follow:The ratio of o nitrophenol and chloroacetic acid was 1:3, reaction temperature was 80~90 ℃,reaction time was 7 h,pH was 9~10.
