Abstract: Due to complex operation conditions,it is particularly important for bearing design to research mechanical properties for hub bearings under various operation conditions. Thus the finite element model is established for third generation hub bearings, and the explicit dynamic analysis is carried out through LS -DYNA.It is assumed that the car drives on straight road at a uniform speed, the stress, speed and acceleration of bearings are analyzed under low speed. The finite element simulation result of speed is comparatively verified with analytical solution. The dynamic characteris-tics of hub bearings are analyzed under low, medium and high speed. The research show that the peak stress and occur-rence frequency increase with the increase of rotational speed at the same time. The acceleration of steel ball under high speed is slower than medium and low speed, and the vibration of hub bearings is smaller, and the operation is smooth.
