Abstract: The structural parameters optimization of test stope in the steeply inclined ore body with thin to medium thickness was carried out in the Siergoumen gold mine ,Gansu Province .By means of the engineering geologic in‐vestigation and rock mechanics experiments at the 1750 m level , many mechanical indexes w hich reflect the quality of engineering rock mass were acquired . Based on the parameters ,"Q"rock mass classification was applied to ana‐lyze the stability of stope;Based on the critical dimension for caving zoon from Mathews stability graph , theoretical basis was provided to ensure the dimension of stope that can lead to cave . Analysis under the condition of invariable in stope 36 m altitude shows that when the stope length is 50 m , both sides cave but the roof is stable . These pa‐rameters provides the possibility for the use of induced caving mining technology .
