Abstract: Chinese modern dance aesthetic education began to develop in the 1920 s to 30 s. It began with the campus dance education in the Republic of China,absorbing and drawing lessons from the western advanced ideas. The ideas of campus dance education of the Republic of China advocated respecting for the nature of children,using the characteristics of the liberation of both mind and body of dance,and cultivating the talents who would be adapt to the social needs and of all- round development. This paper traces back to the origins of the campus dance education and the modern dance aesthetic education in the Republic of China,analyzing the three aspects of the cultural connotations of the time,the nature of the emotions and the inspirations of the function. The paper aims at providing the ideas and suggestions for the scientific development of nowadays campus dance education.
