Abstract: As an academic study of the poetry development history,the Essence of Feng Sao and Spirits of Poems in the Tang Dynasty has combed the poetry development vein from the works of songs and Chuci to the Tang poetry. The book has also discussed how the works of songs of and Chuci reflected the Tang poetry systematically and com-prehensively.The whole book is well organized with a sense of coherence and a unique perspective.with the intro-duction of new theories,new perspective and new methods,the author made systematic comments on the ellects of the works of songs and chucias early classic peoms on the Tang Peoms.The Essence of Feng Sao and Spirits of Po-ems in Tang Dynasty has promoted the study of the Tang poetry,and is of some significance to the comprehensive and in-depth understanding of Tang Poetry.
