Abstract: Objective To investigate the reason and development tendency of mumps outbreak in some region of our country from 2005 to 2015 and provide scientific and useful theoretical basis for the prevention of mumps outbreak. Methods Use the epidemiology to analyze the mumps outbreak on the basis of the data analysis of this disease in this region during this period. Results During the ten years, the number of this disease in this region is 6262, with the average morbidity of 13.9/110,000, rising continuously. And the morbidity has the characteristic of seasonable change. The main patients are children with an age<18( taking up93.29% of the whole cases). The female patients are less than male patients(the number of male cases is 3966 and that of female cases is 2296). From occupational distribution,the students and the children in the kinder-garten are mainly. Conclusion In recent years, the mumps outbreak has spread rapidly in this region, with the rising ten-dency. Cintinuous elevated trend.Therefore,"adjust measures to local conditions""made for population varies"to carry out and do a good job in the prevention and control of mumps urgent.
