Abstract: Due to unfamiliar with Self-drive tourists’ conception and attitude,the related firms blindly develop their products,most of which did not meet Self-drive tourists’ needs.Especially in the northwest of China,although the area enjoys vast landmass,diversified terrain and numerous attractions,the Self-drive tourism products provided is very limited and with low service quality.This study developed a measurement scale of Self-drive tourism service quality based on previous literature,semi-structure in-depth interviews,expert panel as well as a main survey.Three factors for the scale have been identified based on the factor analysis,including"the completeness of travel service","the enjoyment of the travel atmosphere"and"the flexibility of services and scheduling".Finally,the researchers analyzed the quality of Xinjiang Self-drive tourism services with the data collected.The findings carry implications both the theory of Self-drive tourism and the practice in Xinjiang.
