Abstract: The government invested projects have characteristics of large investment scale, wide range, strong public welfare, high degree of attention by the public and so on. In this paper, from the analysis on the characteristics of government investment projects, the project management problems are deeply analyzed in terms of project management system, project management concepts and project management operational mechanism with practical examples. The shortage in project management is pointed out and the causes of the problem are found out, and finally according to the problems of government invested project management, targeted measures and methods are put forward to strengthen and improve the management, so as to provide the basis for the similar government investment project management in the future.
