Abstract: The methyl 2-ethylhexyl carbonate was firstly prepared by transesterification of dimethyl carbonate with 2-ethylhexanol in the presence NKC-9resin as acid catalyst.The generated methanol of the reaction was adsorbed by molecular sieve.The univariate results showed that under the conditions of n(dimethyl carbonate)∶n(2-ethylhexanol)=3∶1,catalyst dosage of 4%(mass of catalyst relative to total mass of dimethyl carbonate and 2-ethylhexanol)and reaction time at the boiling temperature of 8.0h,the yield of methyl 2-ethylhexyl carbonate product reached 62.71% and the prity reached 63.57%.Then when the mass ratio m(methyl 2-ethylhexyl carbonate)∶m(2-ethylhexanol)= 1∶3,catalyst dosage of 5%,temperature at 110~120℃,and reaction time of 5h,the product obtained after vacuum distillation was di-2-ethyhexyl carbonate.The yield of product reached 34.2%,and the purity reached 96.31%.The two products were analyzed by means of GC-MS and FT IR.
