Abstract: Lawrence Venuti’s thought on translation, influenced respectively by Schleiermacher’s, Berman’s and Derrida’s thought to extents, contains his thinking about finance, culture and ideology. Domestication is not opposite to foreignization for domestication does not shield the translator’s subjectivity and foreignization does not manifest it.Besides, any translation embodies the translator’s creative treason and also is the result of the fact that the translator’s subjectivity is given full play.
