Abstract: A large number of college students have owed their good speaking and listening abilities in English to the reformation of English teaching material and method in middle school. However, the problem of their weakness in composing English articles has clearly been revealed in their college English study. Teachers of College English have to work hard to find a solution to this problem and to achieve the final aim of cultivating students’ writing ability in English.
