Abstract: Laser texturing method was applied to improve the roughness of work roll of pilot cold mill,and then temper rolling was conducted to test plates with small pass reduction.The effect of this process on scale roughness and morphology evolution were investigated,results of the trial showed that:1)In the condition of work roll roughness Rz of 80μm and pass reduction of 5%~6 %,the roughness parameter Rz of steel surface raised from about 6μm to 20μm after one pass rolling,while roughness transfer rate was about 25 %;2)The roughness transfer process was detrimental for scale integrity.
