Abstract: Pomegranate fruit is popular with people for its bright colour and grain nutrition which taste delicious. However peel browning and decaying of the post-harvested pomegranate affect its commercial value seriously. In this paper, the post-harvest diseases, storage environmental factors and related preservation technologies of pomegranate were reviewed. The causes, symptoms and prevention-control measures of physiological diseases and fungal diseases during the pomegranate storage were highlighted. The pomegranate preservation technologies such as refrigerated storage, modified atmosphere package(MAP) storage, controlled atmosphere(CA) storage and coating film storage were detailed on the basis of the related factors influencing the storage quality, including storage temperature, relative humidity, gas composition and environmental clarity. Moreover, the future development of preservation technology was prospected with the aim of providing theoretical references for the storage of pomegranate.
