Abstract: Abdominal wall hernia is one of the most common disease in general surgery, mainly including inguinal hernia, incision hernia, parastomal hernia and so on, surgery is the only cure method. Laparoscopic repair of abdominal wall hernia is developed on the basis of tension-free hernioplasty, including LIHR such as TAPP and TEP, laparoscopic incisional hernia repair and laparoscopic repair of parastomal hernia. Its postoperative complications are the same as the traditional hernia repair, but the incidence rate is significantly lower than the traditional surgery. Compared with the traditional hernia repair, laparoscopic abdominal wall hernia repair has obvious advantages such as fewer complication, less trauma and lower recurrence rate, so its potential applications is the most exciting. The current situation and progress of laparoscopic hernia repair in the treatment of ventral hernia were reviewed in this paper.
