Clinical distribution and resistance analyse of multi-drug resistant Acinetobacter baumannii

Abstract: Objective To analysis the clinical distribution and drug resistance of multi-drug resistant Acinetobacter baumannii(MDR-AB) of each clinical department in our hospital,in order to offer reference for the rational use of clinical medicine and the control of infection. Methods A total of 105 strains of MDR-AB isolated from 2012 to 2013 were included in retrospective study and the drug resistance was analyzed. The strains of MDR-AB were detected and their sensitivity to antibiotics was determined by Vitek systems. Results The drug resistance rate of MDR-AB had been raised from 2.02% in 2012 to 2.41% in 2013. Among the105 strains of MDR-AB isolated from clinical departments,43.8% of them sampled from ICU and the dominant specimen were the sputum(81.9%). In the results of the sensitivity to antibiotics,the resistant rate to minicycline and cefoperazone/sulbactam were 44.8%and 53.3% respectively. While the resistant rate to the other 16 types of antimicrobial agents were more than 60.0%. Conclusions The positive ratio of MDR-AB detected in ICU was obviously higher than other departments. More powerful surveillance of bacterial resistance was of great important to rational selection of antibiotics and preventing the abuse of antibiotics.
