Abstract: Objective:To observe the effects of low-frequency electric stimulation combined with hyperbaric oxygen on swallowing disorder after cerebral infarction. Methods: Two hundred and twenty-four cases of cerebral infarction patients with swallowing disorder were recruited. According to the digital random list method, all patients were divided into regular training group, electrical stimulation group, hyperbaric oxygen group and combination group. All groups were given general treatment and swallowing function training was applied in regular training group; Patients in electrical stimulation group were implemented low-frequency electric stimulation; hyperbaric oxygen therapy was given in hyperbaric oxygen group; low-frequency electric stimulation combined with hyperbaric oxygen therapy was applied in combination group. The effects were evaluated by using Kubota drinking water test, the SSA scale and SWAL-QOL scale before and after treatment in the 4 groups. Results: The scores after treatment were higher than those before treatment in all groups (P<0.05). After the treatment, the electrical stimulation group, hyperbaric oxygen group and combination group showed higher effective rate and SWAL-QOL scores as well as lower SSA scores than those in the regular training group; The effective rate, SWAL-QOL scores and SSA scores in combination group were better than those in the electrical stimulation group and hyperbaric oxygen group (P<0.05). No significant differences of effective rate in SWAL-QOL scores and SSA scores was ob-served between electrical stimulation group and hyperbaric oxygen group (P>0.05). Conclusion: Low-frequency electric stimulation combined with hyperbaric oxygen therapy can obviously improve swallowing disorder after cerebral infarction.
