Abstract: Objective To screen of the active ingredient in the non- saponins from Ginseng which can improve the learning and memory ability in Alzheimer’s disease rat models, and characterize its structural. Methods The active ingredient was determined by Morris water maze test. The results of physicochemical properties and molecular weight analysis displayed that the active ingredient was glycoprotein. The sugar composition analysis showed,it was composed of 7 kinds of sugar, among them Glc was the highest. Results Methylation analysis showed that Rha,Man,Glc and Gal A were the non- reducing termination,( 1 →4)- linked Gal A and( 1→6)- linked Man were the backbone. Conclusion And the ginseng Glycoprotein contained 17 kinds of amino acid, among them Arg,Gly and Glu were the hightest.
