Abstract: Molasses is a by-product of the sugar industry, it could be used as reducing agent in production of electrolytic manganese by pyrolusite, but the chloride ion has limited its application. Using static and dynamic experimental methods, macroporous anion resin was carried out as experimental study on adsorption of chloride ion in molasses. The results showed that the resin had good adsorption and desorption effect on Cl-, under the condition of the chloride ion content of 12. 2 g/L, the adsorption capacity of the resin could reach 121 mg/g wet resin, the loaded resin could be eluted with 1. 0 mol/L dilute sulfuric acid, the elution rate was 95. 4%. After the industrial test, molasses chloride removal rate reached 84%.
