Abstract: Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of retroperitoneal laparoscopic radical nephrectomy for localized renal cell carcinoma. Methods From July 2010 to June 2014, 62 cases underwent radical nephrectomy for localized renal cell carcinoma in our hospital were selected and divided into the observation group(30 cases) and the control group(32 cases) in accordance with the treatment method. Patients in the control group were treated by the open radical nephrectomy, while those in the observation group were treated by the retroperitoneal laparoscopic radical nephrectomy. And the clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared. Results Compared with the control group, the observation group had shorter duration of operation, less intraoperative blood loss and quicker postoperative recovery(P <0.05). The incidence of complications was19.2% in the observation group, and 25% in the control group, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Retroperitoneal laparoscopic radical nephrectomy for localized renal cell carcinoma has remarkable clinical effect, small trauma and quick postoperative recovery.
