Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of Modified Gongwaiyun No. 1 Recipe on the apoptosis rate and cell cycle of the human tubal gestational trophoblast cultured in vitro by serum pharmacologic technique. Method: The human tubal gestational trophoblasts were cultured for 72 h,respectively by three different medicated serum samples,which were composed by Chinese medicine,Methotrexate and normal saline. The apoptosis rate and cell cycle were estimated with flow cytometer( FCM). Results: The apoptosis rate raised and the percentage of G0 / G1 phase cells increased after Chinese medicine treatment. There was significant difference between the group of Chinese medicine and the group of normal saline( P < 0. 01). There was no difference between the group of Chinese medicine and the group of Methotrexate( P >0. 05). Conclusion: Inducing the apoptosis rate and regulating cell cycle may be one of the mechanisms of Modified Gongwaiyun No. 1 Recipe to kill embryo.
