Abstract: Objective To evaluate the diagnosis of protein S100B and neurone specific enolase(NSE)in neonates with hypoxic-is-chemic encephalopathy(HIE). Methods The data of 137 neonates hospitalized in our hospital, including 40 healthy neonates,41 neonates with mild HIE,30 neonates with medium HIE and 26 neonates with severe HIE,from Jan. 2010 to Dec. 2014 were analyzed retrospectively. The levels of protein S100B and NSE were detected in all newborn infants on the 1d,3d and 7d after birth. Results Compared with healthy neonates group, protein S100B and NSE in HIE groups were significantly higher (P < 0. 05). The levels of protein S100B and NSE were all significantly decreased after treatment. The relationship between protein S100B and NSE in neonates with HIE was positively correlated. Conclusion Protein S100B and NSE are good biomarkers for the early identification of HIE,its extent of damage and the prognosis.
