Abstract: Regarding Wuhan as a research object, on the basis of Pressure-State-Response Model, this paper establishes an evaluation index system for urban ecologic security. Through determining weight by entropy-weighing method, and analyzing and evaluating ecological security level of Wuhan by the matter element analysis method; the dynamic changes of ecological security level between 2006 and 2013 in Wuhan has been relfected. The results show that: the city of Wuhan has undergone a change process from 2006 to 2013. This change process is from “relatively safe” up to “ideal security”; and general situation is tending towards good. However, we must have a keen awareness of the fact that ecological security level of Wuhan has yet to be considered stable, and urban ecosystems have been forced by multiple adverse factors. In the light of this, this paper points out that by using evaluation method based on entropy weight and matter element model, we can not only get comprehensive quality information, but also reveal the change trend of single index. In this way, we can get more realistic result of ecological security evaluation, which will provide reference for urban ecological construction and maintenance in the future.
