Abstract: This study analyzed the uranium mineralization environment, sand dispersion system, system tract and ore-controlling genetic facies of the upper Saihan Formation in the Tengger depression on the basis of existing drill data. It is suggested that there are abundant uranium sources around the depression. The terrigenous clastic is characterized by near provenance,coarse-grain,low maturity, and strong stream power for transport. The complete prograde-retrogradation parasequence sets developed in the upper Saihan Formation, forming a highstand system tract and lowstand system tract. The highstand system tract, lowstand system tract and lacustrine transgressive system tract( lower Saihan Formation) constitute a "fine-coarse-fine"graded sequence. The channel subfacies of the braided fluvial system, and braided river delta plain subfacies and braided delta front subfacies of braided fluvial delta system are the main ore-control depositional system in the upper Saihan Formation. Sand bodies of the ore-control depositional system are well connected favorable for current migration and development of phreatic-interlayer oxidation zones. The sand bodies controlled the ore body and mineralization anomalies. The ore-control genetic facies types include braided river delta phreatic-interlayer oxidation, fan delta phreatic-interlayer oxidation and paleochannel phreatic-interlayer oxidation.
