Abstract: Along with the use of spiral drilling machine, its security problem attracted much attention.The system equilibrium of the elastic rod twined to cylinder as a mechanical model of coal drill rod, its equilibrium and safety problem had become a hot point of research in the field of coal mining. Based on the Kirchhoff theory, discuss the system equilibrium of the elastic rod twined to cylinder without gravity. Taken Euler angles as variables which describe the shape of the cross section, established mathematics model and equilibrium equations, solved the exist condition of the system equilibrium of the elastic rod twined to cylinder without gravity.
