Deng Xiaoping and the Chinization of Marxism Aesthetics:The Aesthetics Though of Speech Greeting the Fourth Congress of Chinese Writers and Artists

Abstract: As the general designer of the reform and opening in China,Deng Xiaoping was an active participant in the construction of Mao Zedong thought. After the ten years of catastrophe of the cultural revolution,he stuck to the Marxism and Mao Zedong thought,brought order out of chaos,embarked on reform radically,continued to enrich and develop Marxism aesthetics in China. To meet the Chinese new literary spring,his theory,like a breath of fresh air,refreshed the social atmosphere. He inherited and developed the principle of the party character contained by Mao Zedong’s aesthetics principle,the direction of serving the workers,peasants and soldiers,and the theory of people’s supremacy. He proposed the principle of "adopting foreign things to serve China and making the past serve the present". He upheld the policy of "all flowers bloom together,and the contention of a hundred schools of thought". Moreover,by abolishing the slogan of "literature serving politics",He correctly handled the relationship between literature and politics,put forward the policy of"literature serves socialism and the people". He insisted on the "four principles"in the ideological and cultural front,paying attention to the use of dialectical method to seek truth from facts. Deng Xiaoping was strongly against the bourgeois liberalization. For the prosperity and development of socialist literature and art in a new period of China,Deng summarized the practice and theory of the Chinization of Marxism aesthetics in China.
