Clinical Observation of the Therapeutic Effect of Unilateral External Fixator and Absorbable Screws in the Treatment of Unstable Limb Fractures

Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of unilateral external fixator and absorbable screws in the treatment of unstable limb fractures. Methods 112 cases with unstable limb fractures treated in our hospital from January 2012 to December 2014 were randomly selected as the subjects and divided into the control group and the study group. There was comparison between the control group and the study group. Patients in the control group were treated by expectant treatment, and those in the study group were treated by unilateral external fixator and absorbable screws. And the therapeutic effect of the two groups was observed. Results Of the 56 cases in the control group, the therapeutic effect was excellent in 21 cases, good in 20 cases, poor in 15 cases, the good and excellent rate was 73.21%. Of the 56 cases in the study group, the therapeutic effect was excellent in 36 cases, good in 19 cases, poor in 1 case, the good and excellent rate was 98.21%, the difference in the efficacy between the two groups was statistically significant(Zc=3.54, P<0.05); the difference in the good and excellent rate between the two groups was statistically significant(χ2=14.29,P<0.01). Conclusion For unstable limb fractures, unilateral external fixator and absorbable screws have satisfactory effect with good reduction and firm fixation, so they are worthy of extensive clinical application and promotion.
