Abstract: The growth of 2-year-old Toona ciliate of 27 provenances were tested. In addition,the adaptability and growth rhythm of different Toona ciliate provenances were analysed. The results showed that:( 1) The preservation rates were low in Yunnan Pu Er,Guangdong Yunfu,Yunnan Baoshan,Xishuangbanna,Yunnan Chuxiong,Guangxi Xilin,Guangxi Longlin,Guangdong Shaoguan.( 2) The height growth was fast in April to May,when the height growth accounted for41% of the total height growth. The fast growth period of plant height was in June,when the height growth accounted for36% of the total height growth. The slow period of plant height appeared in September to October. The fast growth period of basal stem diameter was in June,when the basal stem diameter growth accounted for 35% of the total basal diameter growth. The basal stem diameter growth was slow in August. There were significant differences in tree height and basal stem diameter,which could carry out the early selection of different provenances.
