Current control technique for grid-connected LCL inverter without synchronous reference PLL

Abstract: Phase locked loop(PLL) technology based on synchronous reference system has been widely used in current control of grid connected inverter. In this paper, a new type of LCL control technology without PLL is proposed. The control strategy combines a control scheme of instantaneous power theory without PLL and a positive sequence fundamental component extraction algorithm for calculation of reference value of the grid connected current. At the same time a corresponding solution is proposed for the defects of PR +HC current controller that cannot perform well in harmonic suppression when the power grid frequency has deviation. The theoretical analysis shows that the grid connected control strategy can enhance the quality of the network, improve the processes of the original complex phase lock,coordinate transformation, decoupling control and so on; also it has the independent control function for reactive power and the automatic tracking of the grid frequency. The correctness and feasibility of the theory are proved by the experiments.
