Abstract: T he relaxation of prestressing strands is a phenomenon existing in actual engineer‐ing projects .The Youth Olympic Landscape Bridge ,a two‐pylon cable‐stayed bridge with a main span of 240 m and with double cable planes ,was cited as an engineering example ,to study the in‐fluence of relaxation of prestressing strands on the structure .MIDAS was used to establish the o‐verall model of the Youth Olympic Landscape Bridge in Nanjing ,using influential matrix method and equivalent temperature method to simulate the relaxation behavior of prestressing strands and the results gained from these two methods were compared .At last ,the equivalent temperature method w as used to calculate the relaxation of prestressing strands on the structure of the Youth Olympic Landscape Bridge in Nanjing .Results of the study indicate that the relaxation behavior of prestressing strands can be simulated by the influential matrix method and equivalent temperature method ,both of the two methods have sufficient simulation accuracy ,and the equivalent tempera‐ture method is much more direct and convenient .The relaxation of stay cables have minimal influ‐ence on the internal force and displacement of pylons as well as the main girder axial force ,but have greater influence on the local bending moment and displacement of the main girder .
