Abstract: [Objective]To study the effect of topical administration of budesonide on distal ulcerative colitis or proctitis as well as the influence on P-selectin and ICAM-1expression.[Methods]Eighty-two cases of patients with distal ulcerative colitis or proctitis were divided into observation group and control group, given budesonide suspension fluid or dexamethasone retention enema, respectively. The curative effects and the expression of P-sel and ICAM 1as well as immunohistochemical results were compared between the two groups.[Results]The curative effect in observation group was significantly higher than that of control group(92.68% vs 80.49%).The levels of P-sel and ICAM-1were significantly lower than those of control group[(18.65+3.12)vs.(24.34+4.05),(230.12+16.45)vs.(286.65+20.14)]ng/L.P-sel(++)expression intensity was significantly lower than that of control group.[Conclusion]Topical budesonide administration is able to downregulate P-sel and ICAM 1expression level, alleviate inflammation, thus improve the effect of treatment.
