Determination of Lead, Copper and Iron Contents in Palladium-Carbon by ICP-AES

Abstract: A simple accurate and precise analytical method for the determination of lead, copper and iron in palladium-carbon catalysts by ICP-AES was proposed. The digestion of sample which contains lead, copper and iron in the range between 0.01%~0.1% in fresh or spent palladium-carbon, was obtained using both HNO3 and HClO4. The recoveries were ranged from 95.8% to 100.9%. The precision, expressed as relative standard deviation (RSD) of the method, is better than 5%.
