Abstract: The general method for preparing copper-thiourea complexes involves the treatment of a copper(II) or copper(I) salt with thiourea in different degree of Lewis acidity. Due to their conformational isomerism, their steric effects, the presence of donor sites on the substituent groups and intra-molecular interactions, substituted thioureas show extremely diverse coordination chemistry. The paper reviews the synthesis and structures of mononuclear, binuclear and polynuclear of copper-thiourea complexes.
