Abstract: The application proportion of power cable in urban distribution network is becoming increasingly large and it has gradually become a dispensable part in daily life,any cable accident would make a great impact on production and life.This paper analyzed the causes of faults,fault type and the steps to diagnose faults and expounded the detection methods for cable faults with practical cases.
