Abstract: In order to study the mechanical performance of the double-layered high-strength spiral stirrup confined con-crete circular columns under axial compression load ,the finite element model of a double-layered high-strength spiral stir-rup confined concrete circular column was simulated according to the test results , based on the domestic and oversea study of confined concrete .And then the mechanical performance of the high-strength spiral stirrup and concrete was ana-lyzed .The results indicate that the simulation results are in good agreement with the test results;the double-layered high-strength spiral stirrup can effectively restrain the horizontal deformation of the reinforced concrete ,and furtherly improve the ultimate bearing capacity and ductility of the reinforced concrete columns;the results are within the safety range . Therefore ,the model can be used in nonlinear finite element analysis of the double-layered high-strength spiral stirrup confined concrete circular columns .
