Abstract: For the purpose of reducing the wave impacts to lifting winch in deep-sea, a set of heave compensation with compound cylinder was proposed for this winch. This paper describes the working principle and components. And three kinds of compensation cylinders were analyzed and compared according to the advantages and disadvan-tages. Finally, compound cylinder was selected as actuator in this heave compensation winch. The aim is to achieve localization for heave compensation products.
