Abstract: Electrostatic properties in the process of foam jet including water film foam extinguishing agent and fluoroprotein foam extinguishing agent were researched in this study. The aim of this paper was to introduce the construction of testing apparatus, measure electric density of foam with different concentration and flow velocity. Also Electrification mechanism of foam extinguishing agent was analyzed. The results showed that lots of static electricity was generated in the process of firefighting foam jet,the probability of static electricity generation of fluoroprotein foam extinguishing agent was higher than water film foam extinguishing agent and the static electricity quantity trended to become bigger along with the flow velocity decrease.Several suggestions, tank wall conduction, flow control and the use of anti-static fire-hose,were proposed to prevent the static electricity generation.
