Abstract: Objective To study the clinical application of artificial total knee arthroplasty in the treatment of severe knee joint diseases. Methods 58 cases with severe knee joint diseases were selected as the object of study accepted treatment in our hospital from May 2009 to August 2013, and artificial knee joint replacement were taken by all patients, the comparison of patients with clinical curative effect, the HSS knee score and knee joint activity were focused on before and after the treatment. Results All the58 patients were followed up 1 to 5 years, and the excellent rate was 95.65%. After treatment, the HSS score and knee joint activity were(87.57±10.81) and(96.43±11.22). Compared pretherapy, there was significant improvement. Comparison on HSS score and knee joint activity had a significant difference(P <0.05) before and after the treatment. Conclusion Using artificial total knee arthroplasty in the treatment of severe knee joint diseases does not only curative effect is exact, but also the operation is less difficult, if patients are actively cooperate with the treatment, adhere to scientific rehabilitation training in the early period, can signifi-cantly improve and restore knee function, It is worthy of clinical popularization
